Alternative software to QuickBooks for a growing business
Companies of 20 to 100 people should sort alternative software to QuickBooks into three tiers: another accounting app, a cloud ERP, or an enterprise finance system.
Companies of 20 to 100 people should sort alternative software to QuickBooks into three tiers: another accounting app, a cloud ERP, or an enterprise finance system. Use the accounting tier for price or bank-reconciliation pain inside one company whose users still fit the plan. Use an ERP when you need warehouses, production, department approvals, or a second legal entity in the same ledger. No, QuickBooks and Business Central are not the same product: QuickBooks is Intuit accounting software, and Business Central is Microsoft Dynamics 365 at USD 80 per Essentials user per month in the US or CAD 108.50 in Canada, paid yearly, as of October 2026.
If you want a free QuickBooks alternative, Wave Starter is USD 0 and Zoho Books Free stays free only at or under USD 50,000 of financial-year revenue in the US, or CAD 50,000 in Canada, with one user. Those plans fit a sole proprietor. They stop being a serious option once several people post to the books, you need purchase orders, or you operate more than one company. The rest of this page prices each tier and names the limit that should move you from one tier to the next.
Which tier of alternative software to QuickBooks fits
Stay in accounting software when all of these are true: one legal entity, quantity-level inventory or no inventory, fewer people posting than the plan allows, and no requirement that a second department approve a bill or a purchase order inside the system. Xero, Zoho Books, FreshBooks, and Wave live in this tier. A move here is a file conversion and a new bank feed. It is the right project when QuickBooks feels expensive or fiddly and the operation itself has not changed.
Move to a cloud ERP when the books are no longer the whole problem. You are re-keying orders into a spreadsheet, stock sits in more than one warehouse, you assemble or manufacture, or a second company file has its own subscription and its own close. Dynamics 365 Business Central and Odoo are the products in this tier with public per-user list prices as of October 2026. This is a migration project. Taking it on only to save a subscription is a poor trade. An accounting-tier conversion, once orders, stock, or a second entity already sit outside the ledger, still carries a services cost and still leaves those spreadsheets in place.
Step up to an enterprise finance ERP when a mid-market cloud ERP is the wrong product for the group structure you already have. Dynamics 365 Finance lists at USD 210 per user per month, paid yearly, as of October 2026. Finance Premium lists at USD 300 and includes 1,000 Copilot Credits per license. NetSuite sits in the same conversation. Price it from the vendor quote, with licenses on one line and implementation on another.
Intuit also splits its own range into three products on the US pricing FAQ: QuickBooks Online Advanced (cloud, up to 25 users), QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise (desktop, capacity to scale up to 40 users), and Intuit Enterprise Suite, which Intuit describes as an AI-native ERP for multi-entity organizations that unifies financials, payroll, workforce, and operations. Advanced is still the accounting tier with a higher seat count. Desktop Enterprise is a desktop product with its own limits, covered in our note on QuickBooks Enterprise alternative limits. Intuit Enterprise Suite is Intuit's multi-entity ERP offer, and it is a different buying motion from a QuickBooks Online plan change.
What a cheaper accounting app costs in 2026
Budget the regular monthly price. Two published promos have a documented end. Xero Early in the US and Xero Starter in Canada are 80% off for three months, then the regular monthly price, and the subscription auto-renews. FreshBooks Lite is USD 1 per month for the first year, then the USD 23 list price.
Xero
Xero US regular monthly prices, as of October 2026, are Early USD 27, Growing USD 59, and Established USD 97. Plans bill monthly and auto-renew. Early and Canada Starter stop being usable once the file goes past 20 invoices or 5 bills. Multiple currencies are on Established only. The plan comparison shows an optional Inventory Plus line at USD 5.00 per month. The Established plan page also lists Inventory under features in every plan, so base inventory and Inventory Plus are different. Have Xero show, on a file like yours, what the USD 5 add-on changes before you treat it as a warehouse system.
Xero's own pricing page carries the line "The quickest move in business? Leaving QuickBooks." Treat that as Xero's ad copy. The useful comparison is the plan table.
Canada uses different names and Canadian dollars, tax excluded. Xero Canada lists Starter at CAD 25, Standard at CAD 60, and Premium at CAD 80 per month, as of October 2026, after an intro discount (80% off for three months on the entry plan). Subscriptions auto-renew monthly. Multiple currencies are on Premium only. Do not paste the US plan names into a Canadian budget.
- Early (Country: US · List price: USD 27 per month · Limit that matters: 20 invoices and 5 bills)
- Growing (Country: US · List price: USD 59 per month · Limit that matters: Multi-currency not included)
- Established (Country: US · List price: USD 97 per month · Limit that matters: Multi-currency included)
- Inventory Plus (Country: US · List price: USD 5.00 per month · Limit that matters: Optional add-on, separate from base inventory)
- Starter (Country: Canada · List price: CAD 25 per month, excl. tax · Limit that matters: 20 invoices and 5 bills)
- Standard (Country: Canada · List price: CAD 60 per month, excl. tax · Limit that matters: Below the multi-currency plan)
- Premium (Country: Canada · List price: CAD 80 per month, excl. tax · Limit that matters: Multi-currency included)
Prices as of October 2026 from Xero US and Xero Canada. The 80% discount for three months applies to Early and to Canada Starter. For Growing, Established, Standard, and Premium, budget the regular monthly price after the intro shown on the current pricing page. Inventory Plus is an optional add-on at USD 5.00 per month, with no teaser price.
For a single-currency services firm with one entity, Growing at USD 59 or Canada Standard at CAD 60 is often the Xero plan that matches the work. The moment you invoice in a second currency, the US price becomes Established at USD 97 and the Canadian price becomes Premium at CAD 80. That is still accounting-tier money. It does not add manufacturing or a second company in the same ledger.
Zoho Books
Zoho Books US publishes seat counts and a free-plan ceiling, as of October 2026. The Free plan is 1 user plus 1 accountant, stays free only while financial-year revenue stays at or under USD 50,000, and caps you at 1,000 invoices a year. Included users on the paid plans are Standard 3, Professional 5, Premium 10, Elite 10, and Ultimate 15. Extra users are USD 3 per user per month, or USD 2.50 if you bill annually. Inventory starts at Professional. Warehouses, serials, and batches start at Elite.
Price Standard through Ultimate from a current Zoho quote, then add seats at the published extra-user rate. Assume 8 people need access and you can live inside Professional's 5 included users: 3 extra users at the annual rate is USD 7.50 per month on top of a quote you still need. Assume those 8 people must be named users and you land on Ultimate's 15 included seats: you may pay no extra-user fee, and you still confirm the base price. A 20-person firm where 18 people need a login is past Ultimate's 15 included users, so the annual extra-user rate applies to each seat above 15.
Zoho publishes customer lines on that same pricing page. One reads "Switching to Zoho Books from QuickBooks truly steadied our ship. The change has saved us approximately 20-30% of the time." Another reads "After working with clients that used QuickBooks, Zoho Books provided all of the same functionality with the addition of customization and integrations." Those are vendor testimonials. Read the time saving as one company's own estimate, then test customization on your own invoice, tax, and approval rules.
In Canada, extra users are CAD 3 per user per month or CAD 2.50 billed annually, as of October 2026. The Canada plan list includes combined GST/QST returns, T4A and T5018 contractor tracking, and XML for T4A/T5018 e-filing on Standard. The demo form offers English or French. A Canada testimonial on that page says "I needed an accounting solution that could meet Quebec's taxation standards." Ask Zoho to generate the combined return from a sample of your invoices before you accept the testimonial as your filing process.
FreshBooks and Wave
FreshBooks prices by client count. As of October 2026, US list prices are Lite USD 23 (5 clients), Plus USD 43 (50 clients), and Premium USD 70 (unlimited clients). Extra team members are USD 11 per user per month. Plus adds double-entry reports, bank reconciliation, and accountant access. Premium adds project profitability and accounts payable. Select is quote-only and includes 2 team members. Lite has a promo of USD 1 per month for the first year. Budget USD 23 after that year.
FreshBooks fits a firm that bills clients and tracks projects. A distributor that receives purchase orders against stock will not find the feature it is missing inside a higher client cap.
Wave's Starter plan carries no subscription fee and puts no cap on the estimates, invoices, bills, and bookkeeping records a business keeps. Card payments on that plan are 2.9% plus USD 0.60. Wave Pro is USD 19 per month or USD 190 per year, and CAD 25 per month or CAD 250 per year, per business. Bank auto-import is a Pro feature. Adding users as admin, editor, or viewer is a Pro feature. Two companies means two Pro subscriptions: USD 38 per month at the monthly rate, before card fees.
Assume USD 50,000 collected on 100 card transactions in a month on Starter. The percentage fee is USD 1,450 and the per-transaction fee is USD 60, so payments cost USD 1,510 that month on a USD 0 subscription. For a growing company that takes cards, the processing line can dwarf any accounting subscription in this tier. Put it in the comparison.
Where a free QuickBooks alternative stops
Free, in the plans published as of October 2026, means one of these:
QuickBooks Online Free in the US is USD 0 for 1 user, with 2 invoices per month unless Payments is enabled. There is no annual contract on the paid QuickBooks Online plans either, but Free is not a multi-user ledger.
The Starter subscription on Wave is USD 0 for accounting and invoicing, with the card fees above, and without extra users or bank auto-import.
Zoho Books Free is one user plus one accountant, under the USD 50,000 or CAD 50,000 financial-year revenue cap, and under the 1,000-invoice cap in the US.
Odoo prices one app free for unlimited users on Odoo Online. One app is the constraint. A company that needs invoicing plus inventory plus purchasing is already on a paid Odoo plan, because Standard is the plan that includes all apps.
Extra users and purchase orders can stay on Wave Pro, a paid Xero plan, Zoho Books from Professional, or QuickBooks Plus. Warehouses, serials, batches, production, and a second legal entity in one ledger go to the Elite-versus-ERP test in the how-to-choose steps. Paying nothing for software and then keeping a parallel spreadsheet is the expensive version of free.
What QuickBooks itself still includes
Price the step you have not taken yet. Many 20-person companies are on Plus and have never looked at what Advanced includes.
US list prices, before the 50% for 3 months new-customer promo, as of October 2026:
- Free (List per month: USD 0 · Promo for 3 months: n/a · Users included: 1 user)
- Simple Start (List per month: USD 38 · Promo for 3 months: USD 19 · Users included: 1 plus 2 accountant seats)
- Essentials (List per month: USD 85 · Promo for 3 months: USD 42.50 · Users included: 3 plus 2 accountant seats)
- Plus (List per month: USD 140 · Promo for 3 months: USD 70 · Users included: 5 plus 2 accountant seats)
- Advanced (List per month: USD 340 · Promo for 3 months: USD 170 · Users included: 25 plus 3 accountant seats)
There is no annual contract. Advanced includes 3 accountant seats. The other paid US plans include 2. Inventory tracking is listed on Plus. Advanced adds custom user permissions, workflow automation, Excel sync, batch invoices and expenses, and unlimited classes and locations. Plus is capped at 40 classes and locations. Inventory quantity tracking with on-hand updates, low-stock alerts, and purchase orders is on Plus and Advanced, not on the lower US plans.
A sixth person who must post transactions is the first hard conversation. Plus includes 5 users and Advanced includes 25, so ask Intuit whether a sixth user can be added to Plus, and at what price, before you assume the jump from USD 140 to USD 340. If Advanced is the only published way to seat that person, the increase is USD 200 per month at list, USD 2,400 per year, for the same company file.
Forty classes and locations is the second conversation. A distributor that tracks a class per sales channel, or a location per truck and room, can hit 40 without being a large company. Advanced removes that cap. It does not turn the file into a multi-entity ledger.
Canada pricing cards, on the Canada plans page as of October 2026, show EasyStart (1 user), Plus (5 users, with inventory, multi-currency, and classes and locations up to 40), and Advanced (25 users, with custom permissions, workflow automation, revenue recognition, and unlimited classes and locations). The Canada FAQ still describes an Essentials plan of up to 3 users. That plan was not on the pricing cards. Confirm whether Essentials is still for sale in Canada before you compare a 3-user option. Do not copy US dollar prices into a Canadian budget. Ask Intuit for the CAD amount on the plan you would buy.
Separate company files are separate subscriptions. Intuit tells buyers who need several accounts to call sales for a multi-company discount. Two Advanced files at the US list price are USD 680 per month before any discount, and they still close as two ledgers.
Limits another accounting app will not remove
A switch from QuickBooks Plus to Xero Established, or from QuickBooks to Zoho Books Professional, changes the vendor and the invoice screen. It does not change these ceilings.
Inventory depth. QuickBooks Online, on the inventory page cited above, is quantity tracking with on-hand counts, low-stock alerts, and purchase orders, starting at Plus. Zoho Books starts inventory at Professional and starts warehouses, serials, and batches at Elite. Business Central Premium is the Microsoft license that adds service management and manufacturing on top of Essentials. QuickBooks Online quantity tracking is not warehouses, serials, or batches. Those start on Zoho Books Elite, or they require Odoo or Business Central when that accounting plan still cannot hold them. Manufacturing sits on Business Central Premium or on Odoo. Our guide on when to move from QuickBooks to ERP walks that threshold in more detail. Side-by-side product notes are on Business Central vs QuickBooks and Odoo vs QuickBooks.
Approvals and permissions. Custom user permissions and workflow automation sit on QuickBooks Online Advanced, at USD 340 per month in the US, not on Plus. If the reason you are shopping is that a coordinator can edit any bill, Advanced may be the smallest change. If the reason is that purchasing, receiving, and accounting are three jobs that need a controlled handoff, Advanced's workflow features still live inside an accounting product. See that on your own transactions before you sign a migration.
Entities. A second company in QuickBooks is a second subscription. Consolidating those files in a spreadsheet is the symptom. Xero and Wave also sell per organization or per business. Moving each file to a cheaper brand multiplies the same pattern. One ledger for several companies is an ERP requirement. Odoo's pricing FAQ gives two statements on this point: the One App Free plan allows multiple companies, and adding companies to a database (or installing Studio) switches the database to the Custom plan. Do not collapse those into one rule. Have Odoo confirm, on a database scoped like yours, which plan a second company forces before you sign.
Users. QuickBooks Online Plus includes 5 users and Advanced includes 25, in the US price table and on the Canada cards. Zoho Books Ultimate includes 15, then extra users at a few dollars each. FreshBooks charges USD 11 per extra team member. Business Central and Odoo charge per user from the first full user. Named users alone can stay on an accounting plan that has the seats. People who post orders, receipts, and bills, and who then need someone else to approve them, are the headcount that pushes the decision.
What Business Central and Odoo cost at list price
License math is the smaller half of the decision. It is also the half you can do before anyone visits. Microsoft says the checkout price can differ by country. A 30-day Business Central trial is free. Team Members is limited to read, approve, and selected create or update. Do not put order-entry staff on Team Members to make a spreadsheet look cheap.
- Business Central Essentials (US list: USD 80 per user per month, paid yearly · Canada list: CAD 108.50 per user per month, paid yearly, plus tax)
- Business Central Premium (US list: USD 110 per user per month, paid yearly · Canada list: CAD 149.20 per user per month, paid yearly, plus tax)
- Business Central Team Members (US list: USD 8 per user per month, paid yearly · Canada list: CAD 10.90 per user per month, paid yearly, plus tax)
- Dynamics 365 Finance (US list: USD 210 per user per month, paid yearly · Canada list: Ask Microsoft for the Canadian checkout)
- Dynamics 365 Finance Premium (US list: USD 300 per user per month, paid yearly · Canada list: Ask Microsoft for the Canadian checkout)
US figures from Business Central pricing and Dynamics 365 Finance pricing. Canada Business Central figures from the Canada pricing page. All as of October 2026. Premium includes Essentials plus service management and manufacturing. For a single-entity distributor that does not need service management or manufacturing, Essentials is usually the license that matches the work. Premium is the license when the company needs either of those.
Assume 25 users, of whom 8 need full licenses and 17 only read, approve, and update within what Team Members allows.
In the US on Essentials, 8 times USD 80 is USD 640 and 17 times USD 8 is USD 136. The mix is USD 776 per month, paid yearly, which is USD 9,312 per year. If those 8 people need manufacturing, Premium at USD 110 makes 8 times USD 110 plus USD 136, which is USD 1,016 per month or USD 12,192 per year.
In Canada on Essentials, 8 times CAD 108.50 is CAD 868 and 17 times CAD 10.90 is CAD 185.30. The mix is CAD 1,053.30 per month plus tax, paid yearly. Premium for the same 8 full users is 8 times CAD 149.20, which is CAD 1,193.60, plus CAD 185.30, which is CAD 1,378.90 per month plus tax.
Set that beside QuickBooks Online Advanced at USD 340 per month for up to 25 users, USD 4,080 per year at list, one company, no yearly commit. The US Essentials mix above is USD 5,232 a year more than one Advanced subscription, and it is a yearly Microsoft commitment. Two Advanced company files, at USD 680 per month before any multi-company discount, land close to the Essentials mix and still do not give you one ledger, warehouses, or manufacturing. The license dollars sit close together. Warehouses, manufacturing, and one ledger for both companies are the difference that justifies the project.
Odoo, as of October 2026 on the Odoo pricing page, shows Standard at USD 31.10 and USD 38.90 per user per month. The lower figure is the 12-month discount for the initial users ordered. Standard includes all apps on Odoo Online. Custom is shown as USD 61.00 and USD 76.20 per user per month and adds Odoo.sh or on-premise, Studio, multi-company, and external API. A light user is USD 8.90, sold after an advisor review. Hosting, support, and upgrades are in the subscription. Implementation is not.
Assume 12 full users on Standard and no light users. The discounted rate is 12 times USD 31.10, which is USD 373.20 per month for the first year on those initial users. The undiscounted rate is 12 times USD 38.90, which is USD 466.80 per month. If a second company moves that database to Custom, the undiscounted rate on the same 12 users is 12 times USD 76.20, which is USD 914.40 per month, and the discounted Custom rate is 12 times USD 61.00, which is USD 732 per month. Confirm the light-user rights before you price a warehouse team at USD 8.90.
We implement both products. A Business Central implementation and an Odoo implementation are scoped in phases: the first phase is the set of workflows the accounting tier cannot close, and later phases pick up the rest. Use the ERP comparison to line the two products up against those workflows before you ask for quotes.
What changes for a Canadian company
Tax output and the Desktop sunset are the two Canadian facts that should change the shortlist. Subscription price still has to be quoted in Canadian dollars.
CRA rates in force, including the Nova Scotia change on April 1, 2025, are:
- Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec, Saskatchewan, Yukon: 5% GST
- Ontario: 13% HST
- Nova Scotia: 14% HST
- New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island: 15% HST
- Quebec, in addition to 5% GST: 9.975% PST
Place-of-supply rules decide which rate applies. A British Columbia company selling into Ontario cannot assume 5% on every invoice. QuickBooks Online Canada plans calculate and track sales tax for CRA filing. Have QuickBooks show whether your Canada file produces a combined GST/QST return. Zoho Books Canada states that it generates combined GST/QST returns, and it puts T4A and T5018 tools on Standard. Have each finalist post a Quebec invoice at 5% GST plus 9.975% PST, and an Ontario invoice at 13% HST, and then show the filing file your accountant will upload.
Language is a separate test from the marketing site. Intuit publishes a French-language QuickBooks site for Canada, with French plan names (Démarrage, Standard, Plus, Avancé) and a French support community. That is a French storefront. It does not, by itself, prove the books screens are fully bilingual. Zoho's Canada demo form offers English or French. Ask each vendor to click through invoice entry, tax, and the sales-tax report in the language your clerks use.
QuickBooks Desktop is no longer sold to new subscribers in Canada. Intuit says support for QuickBooks Desktop 2023 and older ends after May 31, 2026. That clock is a forced-move moment of its own, separate from outgrowing Online. A company still on an older Desktop file needs a landing product: QuickBooks Online on the Canada plan that matches its users and inventory, or an ERP if the Desktop workarounds were already doing warehouse, manufacturing, or multi-company work. Xero Canada is a live accounting-tier option at CAD 25, CAD 60, and CAD 80, under the names Starter, Standard, and Premium. Multi-currency still sits on the top plan only.
What a migration costs beyond the subscription
The subscription is the figure on the vendor site. Whether this year is the year depends on the project quote beside it.
Odoo is the vendor that publishes implementation hours. Success Packs for new customers (15% off the first pack) are Starter USD 493 for 4 hours, Basic USD 3,060 for 25 hours, Standard USD 5,950 for 50 hours, Custom USD 10,625 for 100 hours, and Pro USD 21,250 for 200 hours, as of October 2026. Returning-customer prices are USD 580, USD 3,600, USD 7,000, USD 12,500, and USD 25,000. Onsite travel is extra.
These packs are Odoo-delivered hours. They are a bundle of time, and a partner project is a separate quote. A 4-hour pack can review a question. Opening a company, moving open invoices, and training a warehouse takes a larger pack or a scoped project. Companies under 50 employees are steered to Success Packs. Above 50 employees, Odoo says buyers usually use a partner. A firm in the 20 to 100 range can fall on either side of that line, so ask which path Odoo will apply to your headcount, then ask the implementer for a phase plan in hours against your workflows.
Business Central and Dynamics 365 Finance implementation prices are a bidder's quote. Ask each bidder to price data migration as its own line, separate from licenses, training, and the first year of support. Ask for the same split on an accounting-tier conversion (opening balances, open invoices, items, and customers) so a low Xero or Zoho subscription does not conceal a services invoice.
The cost that surprises owners is the second close. For a month you will keep QuickBooks open while the new system takes live orders. Name who posts in which system during that month, or you will pay for two ledgers and a reconciliation project. Phase the cutover: finance and open items first if the pain is the close, inventory and purchasing first if the pain is stock you cannot see. Our work on both Business Central and Odoo is designed around that kind of first phase, with a consultant reviewing configuration before you go live.
How to choose a tier before you sit through demos
Run this sequence on your own numbers, then invite two vendors in the tier you picked. Sitting through five demos before you know the tier is how a company buys another accounting app and keeps the warehouse spreadsheet.
- List every legal entity and whether it needs its own tax registration. One entity keeps the accounting tier in play. Two or more, if they must share customers, items, or a close, points at an ERP, and you still confirm Odoo's plan rule in writing.
- Count people who create or edit orders, bills, and items. Compare that count with QuickBooks Plus at 5 included users, Advanced at 25, Zoho Ultimate at 15, and a per-user ERP price. Then count people who only approve. Those are Team Member candidates only after you read the rights Microsoft lists.
- Write the stock requirement in one sentence: no stock, quantity and purchase orders, or warehouses with serials, batches, or production. Quantity and purchase orders can stay on QuickBooks Plus or Advanced, or on Zoho from Professional upward. Warehouses, serials, and batches are Zoho Elite territory or an ERP. Production points at Business Central Premium or Odoo.
- If you file in Canada, require a sample GST/HST or Quebec GST-plus-PST filing file from each finalist, plus the language your clerks will use on screen. Marketing sites in French are not that test.
- Price year-two list, after promos. Keep the QuickBooks half-off period and the FreshBooks first-year rate of USD 1 in a footnote. The budget uses the list price after that period. Add card fees if you take payment in the product. Add Odoo Success Pack hours, or a bidder's migration line, under the subscription.
- Keep code and the database terms in the contract: who owns configuration, what happens to your file if you change implementer, and which hours are vendor packs versus implementation. Named people, hours, references, and a phase plan are the tests that decide who does the work.
If step 3 or step 1 has already pushed you into the ERP tier, book the call with the fit-check answers in hand. We will tell you if an accounting app still covers the gaps, and what a first phase on Business Central or Odoo has to include before anyone talks about a second phase.
How Flectic can help
Flectic implements Business Central, Sales and Copilot on Dynamics 365 for companies of 20 to 100 people in the US and Canada that have outgrown QuickBooks and need multi-entity finance, tighter approvals or Power BI reporting. At Microsoft's 2026 list prices, which are separate from Flectic fees, Business Central Essentials is $80 per user a month and Premium is $110. Book a free discovery call with Flectic to see which tier fits your finance team, then scope the Dynamics 365 implementation.

Frequently asked questions
Can I purchase multiple QuickBooks accounts at a discount?
Each company file is its own QuickBooks Online subscription. Intuit tells buyers who need several accounts to call sales and ask for a multi-company discount. Get that discount in writing before you compare two QuickBooks files with one ERP database, because the discount changes the license gap and does not merge the ledgers.
Are there any additional costs beyond the QuickBooks subscription price?
The US list price is monthly and has no annual contract, but the new-customer rate is half off for three months and then returns to list. A second company is another subscription. Card processing, payroll, and any migration of opening balances sit outside the plan price. Ask the next vendor to show those lines before you treat a lower subscription as a lower total.
How many users can I add, and what if I need more than the plan includes?
US QuickBooks Online includes 1 user on Free and Simple Start, 3 on Essentials, 5 on Plus, and 25 on Advanced, plus accountant seats. Canada cards show 1, 5, and 25 on EasyStart, Plus, and Advanced. Ask Intuit for the price of one more user on your current plan before you jump to Advanced or to an ERP. That quote is the fair comparison with a per-user Business Central or Odoo license.
Which QuickBooks plan is right for a growing or mid-sized business?
Plus is the US plan that adds inventory, at 5 users and 40 classes and locations. Advanced is the plan that reaches 25 users, custom permissions, workflow automation, and unlimited classes and locations. A growing company that only needs quantity tracking and fewer than five posters can stay on Plus. Once you need a sixth poster, department approvals, or a second entity, price Advanced and an ERP on the same scope.
What is the difference between QuickBooks Online Advanced, Desktop Enterprise, and Intuit Enterprise Suite?
Advanced is cloud accounting for up to 25 users. Desktop Enterprise is the desktop product, with capacity Intuit describes as scaling up to 40 users. Intuit Enterprise Suite is the product Intuit describes for multi-entity organizations, covering financials, payroll, workforce, and operations. Advanced is a plan change. The other two are different products with their own quotes.
Is QuickBooks Desktop still available in Canada?
QuickBooks Desktop is no longer sold to new subscribers in Canada. Intuit says support for QuickBooks Desktop 2023 and older ends after May 31, 2026. A Canadian company still on one of those desktop versions needs a landing system now: QuickBooks Online on a Canada plan that matches its users, or an ERP if the desktop file was already covering warehouses, production, or more than one company.
Where can I get Odoo implementation services, and how much does it cost?
Odoo's subscription includes hosting, support, and upgrades. Implementation is a separate purchase. New-customer Success Packs run from USD 493 for 4 hours to USD 21,250 for 200 hours. Those figures buy Odoo-delivered hours, and a full migration is a scoped project on top. Odoo steers companies under 50 employees to those packs and says companies above 50 usually use a partner. Ask for a phase plan in hours against your own workflows, and keep travel out of the hour price.
