Top 10 ERP systems for mid-size companies, ranked by fit
For a 20 to 100 person US company, shortlist these: Dynamics 365 Business Central, Odoo, NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP Business One, Epicor Kinetic, Cetec ERP, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 Finance…
For a 20 to 100 person US company, shortlist these: Dynamics 365 Business Central, Odoo, NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP Business One, Epicor Kinetic, Cetec ERP, Sage Intacct, Dynamics 365 Finance with Supply Chain Management, and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. As of October 2026, Business Central Essentials is USD 80 per user per month, and Odoo Standard showed USD 24.90 and USD 31.10. Six of the ten are quote only from the vendor: NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP Business One, Epicor Kinetic, Sage Intacct, and SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud. Cetec, and Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, publish list prices, shown below. Put each licence beside a services quote before you book demos.
A complete list of ERP systems for this headcount
On 5 October 2026, Bing's results for a complete list of ERP systems were definitions of the word complete. The ten names above are a shortlist for a 20 to 100 person US firm, ranked by fit for that headcount. A catalog of every ERP on earth would be a different page.
Panorama Consulting Group’s 1 October 2025 preview asks “Where do you even start?” and then lists ten names alphabetically for a mid-size to large client base: Acumatica, Epicor Kinetic, IFS Cloud, Infor CloudSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, Sage Intacct, SAP S/4HANA Cloud, and Workday. The comparison behind that preview is gated. Odoo and SAP Business One are absent. The preview is a cross-check for bigger firms. At 20 to 100 people, price and headcount fit still have to come from the vendor pages and from this shortlist.
Use this order instead. It follows published fit and whether a buyer can see a licence number before a demo.

- 10 (Product: SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud · Who it fits at 20 to 100 people: A rare 20 to 100 person firm with large-company process needs · Leave it off when: Almost everyone in this headcount band · Licence start, October 2026: No verified SAP public list price in these sources. ERP Research’s USD 180 and Top10ERP’s USD 200 are publisher figures, not SAP’s price.)
Cetec’s own line belongs in the manufacturing rows: “A 20-person aerospace supplier may require more ERP rigor than a 200-person job shop.” Match the product to the work, because headcount alone will mis-rank a regulated plant against a simple job shop. That sentence is on Cetec's launch page.
We implement Business Central and Odoo. The other eight are here so you can cut them fairly. Nothing on this page is a NetSuite, Acumatica, SAP, Sage, Epicor, or Cetec partnership.
What year-one cost looks like when the licence page is public
Assume 15 people need a full Business Central licence and 10 need limited access. At Microsoft’s US list, 15 Essentials users at USD 80 per user per month for 12 months is USD 14,400. Ten Team Members users at USD 8 for 12 months is USD 960. Licence spend for that mix is USD 15,360 in the first year, before tax and before any add-on.
Premium is the manufacturing and service-management step inside the same product, at USD 110 per user per month paid yearly. Swap the 15 full users to Premium and the full-user line becomes USD 19,800, so the same 25-person mix is USD 20,760 of licences. A 30-day trial is free. Microsoft’s pricing page says prices are informational, can vary by currency, country, and region, and tells you to contact a partner to purchase. Microsoft does not publish an implementation fee. Treat any “minimum project” number on a directory as someone else’s figure.
Paid Business Central licences are bought through the Cloud Solution Provider program. Microsoft’s licensing documentation names Essentials, Premium, Team Member, External Accountant, a Device licence for a shared shop-floor, warehouse, or point-of-sale device, and read-only access through eligible Microsoft 365 licences when Essentials or Premium is already in place. Ask the seller to price the Device licence and the External Accountant licence as separate lines. Online Services Terms generally bar reassigning a licence within 90 days of the last assignment, with limited exceptions. Do not plan to pass one Essentials licence around the warehouse each week.
If you also operate in Canada, the Canada English price page lists Essentials at CAD 108.50, Premium at CAD 149.20, and Team Members at CAD 10.90 per user per month, paid yearly, plus applicable tax. Use that Canada page when the entity is Canadian. The other licence figures in this article come from US pages.
Odoo's October 2026 yearly toggle shows two pairs side by side. The pricing page showed Standard at USD 24.90 and USD 31.10 per user per month and also printed USD 31.10 and USD 38.90. Custom showed USD 49.00 and USD 61.00 and also printed USD 61.00 and USD 76.20. A footnote says the discount is valid for 12 months for the initial users ordered. For a budget, use a lower displayed figure only for those first 12 months, and ask Odoo which printed figure applies after that before you lock year two.
Assume 15 paying Standard users. At USD 24.90, year-one licences are USD 4,482. At USD 31.10, they are USD 5,598. At the higher printed USD 38.90, they are USD 7,002. Hosting on Odoo Online is included for Standard. Implementation, expert services, and maintenance of custom code are not. Odoo.sh hosting is not included on Custom. One App Free is USD 0 for one app and unlimited users on Odoo Online. That plan covers a single app.
Success Packs for new customers, with the 15 percent first-pack discount already reflected in the list, are Starter USD 493 for 4 hours, Basic USD 3,060 for 25 hours, Standard USD 5,950 for 50 hours, Custom USD 10,625 for 100 hours, and Pro USD 21,250 for 200 hours. Returning-customer prices are USD 580, USD 3,600, USD 7,000, USD 12,500, and USD 25,000 for the same hour counts. Travel time and travel expenses for onsite work are extra. Above 50 users the estimator tells you to contact Odoo, so a pack is not a full quote at the top of this headcount band. A 40-person firm that buys the new-customer Standard pack adds USD 5,950 of published services to the licence math. A 70-person firm should expect a partner proposal instead.
Cetec is the other vendor with a full public menu. Standard users are USD 50 per user per month with a 5-user minimum. Shop-floor users are USD 25. Customer and vendor portals are USD 20 per portal per month. The Standard support plan is USD 650 per month for up to 15 hours of phone support, 8am to 7pm Eastern, Monday to Friday. Enterprise support is USD 3,200 per month. Expert services, including data migration and custom development, are USD 315 per hour.
Assume 10 standard users and 8 shop-floor users on the Standard support plan. Year-one licences are USD 8,400 and Standard support is USD 7,800, so USD 16,200 before any launch package. Enterprise support alone is USD 38,400 a year, which can exceed the licences. Launch ranges are DIY at USD 0, Assisted at USD 5,000 to 80,000, and Managed at USD 50,000 to 150,000 or more. Cetec says launch cost depends on complexity. Ask whether the hourly expert rate sits inside the launch band or on top of it. Those are separate published lines.
Who each product fits, and who should drop it
Microsoft describes Business Central as ERP for small and midsize businesses and says it is trusted by 55,000 companies. The product page names wholesale distribution, retail and consumer goods, professional services, manufacturing, construction, energy and utilities, and non-profit. A distributor that does not need manufacturing or service management prices Essentials at USD 80. The first phase that must schedule production, cost a routing, or run service management prices Premium at USD 110. Our work on that product is described on the Business Central implementation page. Distributors comparing warehouse and order flow in more detail can use the best ERP for wholesale distribution guide. This page stays the cross-industry list.
A commissioned Forrester Consulting study, cited on Microsoft’s Business Central page for a composite organization, reports more than 200 percent ROI over 3 years and a 6-month potential payback. That is a vendor-commissioned composite, so leave it out of a 20 to 100 person budget.
Odoo defines a midsized company as 51 to 250 employees on its pricing appointment menu, a small business as 6 to 50, and large as 250 or more. Its FAQ says companies under 50 employees usually implement with Odoo using Success Packs, and companies over 50 usually work with a partner for local project management. That split sits in the middle of a 20 to 100 person shortlist. Standard is Odoo Online and all apps. Custom adds Odoo.sh or on-premise, Studio, multi-company, and external API. If you have two companies in one database, Standard’s price is the wrong column. ERP Research, in an editorial ranking it says is not pay-to-play, places the Odoo fits it sees at about USD 1 million to 25 million of revenue, and says the successful projects it sees are almost always with an experienced partner. How we phase that work is on the Odoo implementation page.
NetSuite stays when you have several subsidiaries and you will accept a quote. ERP Research calls it the default for multi-subsidiary mid-market companies, and describes it as workable for complex manufacturing while pointing buyers with that plant elsewhere. Roundup per-user figures for NetSuite stay out of this shortlist. The cell reads quote only. Do not carry a directory’s per-user number into a board pack and call it Oracle’s list.
Acumatica publishes editions: General Business, Distribution, Manufacturing, Retail, Construction, and Professional Services. Advanced financials are included in each. Multiple currencies, intercompany accounting, fixed assets, payroll, and global financials are marked optional. Project or job-cost accounting is included in Construction and Professional Services and optional on the other editions. The editions page shows the edition names and what is included or optional. Keep Acumatica when one of those editions matches the business. If a seller describes consumption pricing or unlimited users, have that term written on the quote.
SAP’s answer to “What is the difference between SAP ERP and SAP Business One?” is the size design. SAP says Business One is an affordable ERP for small and midsize companies, covering accounting and financials, purchasing, inventory, sales and CRM, and reporting, and that Business One is designed for small and midsize businesses while SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP ERP are designed for organizations of all sizes. Public list prices are not on the Business One page. The path shown is Request a quote and Contact us. Rank 5 is for a firm that wants that small and midsize SAP product. Rank 10, S/4HANA Public Cloud, is the step most companies in this band should leave off unless a process review shows large-company scope you already run. ERP Research’s starting figure of USD 180 per user per month for S/4HANA Public Cloud is that publisher’s number, not a figure printed by SAP on the Business One page.
Epicor describes Kinetic as cloud ERP designed for manufacturers, including discrete, process, and make-to-order, with cloud, on-premises, and hybrid deployment. Industry pages linked from the product include aerospace and defense, construction and engineering, electronics, fabricated metals, furniture, industrial machinery, medical devices, metal service centers, and rubber and plastics. Licensing is a bundle: platform core, cloud package, and concurrent users. No dollar licence price is on the product page. The commercial path is Request a Demo. A distributor with no plant should not sit through that demo. Epicor cites a Forrester Consulting study it commissioned, based on four manufacturing organizations combined into one composite, showing 270 percent ROI, USD 14.87 million net present value, and a 20-month payback. That composite is not a typical 20 to 100 person result.
Sage Intacct appears on Panorama's alphabetical preview and on ERP Research’s ranking, where the start is marked custom. Use it when the project is the ledger and the close. When the same purchase has to receive stock and issue production orders, move it off this shortlist. Ask Sage to put the fee on the quote. A roundup mark of custom is not a price.
Finance and Supply Chain Management are separate products from Business Central. Finance lists at USD 210 per user per month paid yearly, and Finance Premium at USD 300. Supply Chain Management lists at USD 210, and Supply Chain Management Premium at USD 300. A buyer who needs both is looking at two USD 210 lists before Premium. Shortlist them when a Business Central workshop fails your multi-entity or manufacturing scenarios. Until that workshop, the USD 80 Essentials figure is the Dynamics price that matches this headcount.
Why top 10 lists disagree on the same product
Three public pages can show three prices because they are not the same kind of number.
- Business Central (What the vendor page supports: USD 80 Essentials on Microsoft’s US page · What a roundup printed: Top10ERP.org directory card: USD 175 per user per month and a USD 35,000 minimum implementation fee. ERP Research: USD 50 per user per month for Microsoft Dynamics 365)
- Odoo (What the vendor page supports: The Standard and Custom pairs above · What a roundup printed: ERP Research start: USD 24.90 per user per month)
- NetSuite (What the vendor page supports: No Oracle list used here · What a roundup printed: ERP Research: USD 99 per user per month, and a publisher TCO band of USD 100,000 to 500,000 over 4 to 9 months. Top10ERP directory: USD 125 per user per month and a USD 10,000 minimum fee)
- Cetec (What the vendor page supports: USD 50 standard user · What a roundup printed: Top10ERP directory: USD 50 and a USD 0 minimum, which matches the published DIY floor)
- Acumatica (What the vendor page supports: No dollars on the editions page · What a roundup printed: ERP Research: custom, with a publisher TCO band of USD 75,000 to 350,000 and 4 to 8 months. Top10ERP: price per user not applicable, USD 10,000 minimum)
- Epicor Kinetic (What the vendor page supports: No dollar licence on the product page · What a roundup printed: ERP Research: USD 100 per user per month. Top10ERP directory: USD 125 and a USD 50,000 minimum)
- Sage Intacct (What the vendor page supports: No vendor fee cited · What a roundup printed: ERP Research: custom, publisher TCO USD 50,000 to 200,000 and 3 to 6 months)
- SAP S/4HANA (What the vendor page supports: No verified SAP public list price in these sources · What a roundup printed: ERP Research’s USD 180 and Top10ERP’s USD 200 are publisher figures, not SAP’s price. Top10ERP also lists a USD 75,000 minimum)
Top10ERP.org says its 2026 overall list is not ordered best to worst. Its cards are a directory, and the Business Central per-user figure conflicts with Microsoft. ERP Research’s bands are that publisher’s estimates. ERP Research also says Oracle does not publish a simple NetSuite list and that a quoted list is often 40 to 60 percent of street. Use that as a reason to demand the quote in writing. Do not back-solve a street price from 40 percent of a number Oracle did not publish.
IFS, Infor, Workday, Oracle Fusion, QAD, and DELMIAWorks show up on those roundups. They do not earn a slot on this ten, because a 20 to 100 person buyer still lacks a vendor list price and a headcount fit that beats the products above. Top10ERP’s directory cards put DELMIAWorks and QAD at USD 250 per user per month and Infor CloudSuite Industrial at USD 150, with minimum implementation fees of USD 20,000, USD 25,000, and USD 25,000. Those are directory figures. Intuit Enterprise Suite appears there with a USD 7,000 minimum implementation fee. None of those directory minimums is a bid for your company.
Manufacturing changes the rank order
Essentials does not include the manufacturing capabilities Microsoft sells in Premium. If the first phase has to schedule production, cost a routing, or run the service module, the Business Central licence in the model is Premium at USD 110. Plants that want a manufacturer’s product with public evidence have two further names: Epicor Kinetic, on a quote, and Cetec, on the USD 50 list plus support plus a launch band.
A job shop and a regulated aerospace supplier of the same headcount are different projects. Cetec’s 20-person versus 200-person line is the right test. Take your routing, lot rules, and outside-processing steps to the demo. If the product cannot show them on your data, cut it, even if the per-user price looked low.
Complex process manufacturing is a reason to hesitate on this whole shortlist. Epicor says Kinetic supports process as well as discrete and make-to-order, so a process plant can keep Kinetic long enough for a scripted demo. ERP Research’s caution on complex manufacturing is aimed at NetSuite. If your process needs a specialist product outside these ten, say so in the request for proposal and stop stretching Business Central Premium or a generic edition to fit it. Small plants comparing scope in more detail can read the best ERP for small manufacturers.
Where CRM and warehouse tools sit
A top 10 CRM list, or a top 10 warehouse list, answers a different purchase. On this shortlist, CRM and the warehouse show up as scope inside the ERP. SAP Business One’s page includes sales and CRM with inventory. Business Central’s page includes wholesale distribution, retail, and manufacturing, so stock and orders sit inside the ERP decision. Buy a dedicated CRM or warehouse product when the ERP demo fails a workflow you already run every day.
How to choose, and what the partner has to show
Partner badges are a late filter. The tests that change a 20 to 100 person project are the named people, the hours, the references at a similar headcount, the phase plan, and who owns the code and the configuration when the project ends.
Business Central is partner-purchased through the Cloud Solution Provider program. Odoo points companies over 50 employees to a partner, and points companies under 50 toward Success Pack hours. Acumatica, SAP Business One, NetSuite, and Epicor are quote or demo paths. Cetec will sell you a published user price and a published launch range directly from its site. We do not implement those other products. For Business Central and Odoo, the engagement we run is an ERP implementation scoped in phases: discovery, configuration, data migration, training, and support after go-live. Our target for a first usable phase is 8 to 12 weeks on the scope we agree in discovery.
Ask each bidder to price data migration as its own line, then training, then each integration, then custom code and its ongoing maintenance. Odoo already states that extra monthly charges apply for maintenance of extra modules or lines of code. Microsoft leaves the services price to the partner. Cetec publishes USD 315 per hour beside the launch ranges. Anyone who folds all of that into one number has not given you a number you can compare.
A practical sequence:
- Write down legal entities, locations, and whether the first phase includes manufacturing or only finance and inventory.
- Cut any product whose leave-it-off line matches you, and book demos only for the names that remain.
- Build the licence year from the vendor page using your real mix of full users and limited users.
- Require a phase plan with names and hours. Check references at a similar headcount and a similar amount of custom code.
- Confirm you will own the configuration and any custom code you paid for, and who answers the phone in month two.

Frequently asked questions
How do you define a paying user in Odoo?
Odoo treats an employee who uses the system as a paying user, and that includes someone who only files expenses or timesheets. Portal users such as customers and suppliers are not paying users. Count the employee seats before you multiply the Standard or Custom monthly figure, or the year-one licence line will be short.
What is an Odoo Light User?
A Light User is USD 8.90 through an advisor quote, for limited HR, point of sale, shop-floor, and barcode work. It is not a cheaper full user. Ask the advisor which screens that seat cannot open before you mix it with Standard or Custom users.
What is the difference between the Odoo Standard plan and the Custom plan?
Standard is Odoo Online with all apps, and that hosting is included. Custom adds Odoo.sh or on-premise, Studio, multi-company, and the external API, and Odoo.sh hosting is not included. On the October 2026 yearly view, Standard displayed USD 24.90 and USD 31.10 and also printed USD 31.10 and USD 38.90, while Custom displayed USD 49.00 and USD 61.00 and also printed USD 61.00 and USD 76.20. The page says the discount lasts 12 months for the initial users ordered. Implementation is extra on both plans.
Do I need a Microsoft partner to buy Business Central?
Yes. Paid licences are purchased through the Cloud Solution Provider program, and Microsoft’s price page says to contact a partner to purchase, for an assessment, consulting, or additional pricing. Licence names include Essentials, Premium, Team Member, and External Accountant, plus a Device licence for a shared shop-floor, warehouse, or point-of-sale device. Online Services Terms generally bar reassigning a licence within 90 days of the last assignment, with limited exceptions for absence or a device that is out of service.
When does a company outgrow Business Central and need Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management?
Move up when Business Central, including Premium, cannot cover the manufacturing or multi-entity work you already run, and a demo on your own data has shown that. Finance and Supply Chain Management are separate products, each listed at USD 210 per user per month paid yearly, or USD 300 for each Premium plan, as of October 2026. A roundup price of USD 50 for Dynamics 365 is neither the Essentials list nor this step up. Run the failed Business Central scenarios again on Finance and Supply Chain Management before you replace the shortlist.
What is the difference between SAP ERP and SAP Business One?
SAP says Business One is designed for small and midsize businesses and covers accounting and financials, purchasing, inventory, sales and CRM, and reporting. SAP says SAP S/4HANA Cloud and SAP ERP are designed for organizations of all sizes. Business One has no public list price on its US product page. The commercial path shown is Request a quote and Contact us. For most firms of 20 to 100 people, Business One is the SAP name that belongs in a first conversation, and S/4HANA is the name to leave off until the scope is clearly the larger product.
Where can I get Odoo implementation services, and how much does it cost?
Under 50 employees, Odoo points buyers to Success Packs. New-customer packs, with the first-pack discount reflected, run from USD 493 for 4 hours to USD 21,250 for 200 hours. Returning-customer packs run from USD 580 to USD 25,000 for the same hour steps. Above 50 users the estimator says to contact Odoo, and Odoo says mid-size companies over 50 employees usually work with a partner. Travel for onsite work is extra, and custom code can carry an extra monthly maintenance charge.
